Gosick - New Anime for 2011
There is nothing I like more than discovering new anime, especially when I think its going to be great. In anime I look for an interesting storyline, lovable characters, characters you love to hate and an amazing soundtrack. I think I’ve found that in Gosick.

Gosick takes place in 1924 in a small, made-up European country of Sauville. The story centers on Kazuya Kujo, the third son of a Japanese Imperial soldier, who is a transfer student to St. Marguerite Academy, where urban legends and horror stories are all the rage. There he meets Victorique, a mysterious yet beautiful and brilliant girl who never comes to class and spends her days reading the entire content of the library or solving mysteries that even detectives can’t solve. The series mostly focuses on Kazuya and Victorique getting involved in different mystery cases and their struggle to solve them, at the same time forming important bonds with different people.
I love mystery’s and urban legends so I think this one will be a keeper for me. I’ve read volume one of the manga and if the anime is half as good we’re in for a good show. So far only two episodes have been released (Thank You CrunchyRoll) and there are supposed to be 24 in all. I can tell its going to be good. Lastly I haven’t heard much music from the series besides what was in the trailer and the ending theme I’ve found on youtube but both tunes sound very beautiful and I can’t for the soundtrack to be released.

One thing I don’t get about the series is its title. “Gosick” Was is it supposed to be “Gothic” and the word got lost in translation? Or was it something else? Oh well I guess time will tell.
